Stars do not pull each other down to be more visible. If that were true, then all of us would be born with the same amount of light. However, this is not the case. We are all born with different amounts of light.
People who are born rich are born with a very great deal of light. But for them, it is to the point where they are so rich that they have no need to work for anything. They can just rest on their laurels and enjoy their wealth until death comes knocking on their door.
